Leonid Shlyakhover, President of Vyzov Foundation, Took Part in Future Technologies Forum

The Future Technologies Forum was held in Moscow. It is a major event dedicated to cutting-edge scientific solutions organized by the Roscongress Foundation. The Forum featured a panel discussion "Place of Popular Science in Science: How to Attract and Promote?" that took place on February 14. The panelists discussed the issue of popularity of scientific activities and ways of making it more appealing, especially among the younger generation.

Leonid Shlyakhover, President of the Vyzov Foundation, was among the speakers at the panel discussion. He noted that despite the importance of scientists' work, they often remain behind the scenes. Although their research is transforming people's lives every day, they often remain unknown to a wide audience. The Foundation's goal is to change that and to raise the profile of science as an occupation.

To achieve this goal, the Foundation creates various projects that introduce the public to the achievements of Russian scientists in an engaging and accessible way. One of these projects is the photo exhibition "Physicists and Lyricists" that will have portraits of scientists displayed alongside celebrities such as actors and choreographers. The project will be presented in Sochi at the World Youth Festival, which will take place from March 1st to March 7th.

"The more we talk about scientists, the more you'll learn about them, and the faster they'll become popular," said Leonid Shlyakhover. "We are doing this as part of a major SCIENCE&ART project. We want to target the younger audiences."

Leonid Shlyakhover recalled the VYZOV Prize Awards Ceremony that took place in December. The event was held in a solemn atmosphere and was broadcast on Channel One, showing great viewership numbers.

The prize aims to support media profile of experts and laureates, creating and promoting personal brands of Russian scientists. Due to the limited information available about scientists, such projects with a touch of entertainment are very important. "Therefore, the Science&Art formula that we believe is very meaningful should be expanded as we move forward," he concluded.

The activities of the Vyzov Foundation are aimed at building an expert community in science and technology, and developing international communications.
