The Vyzov Foundation for the Development of Scientific and Cultural Relations and the Far Eastern Federal University signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum on September 4th, 20254. The signing ceremony was headlined by FEFU Rector, Professor Boris Korobets and Ms Natalya Tretyak, Director General of the Vyzov Foundation.

The signing of this agreement signals the start of a long-term strategic partnership aimed at strengthening cooperation in the area of science, education and innovations. As part of the SPA, the two entities undertake to carry out expert analysis, support initiatives aimed at popularizing scientific research and new technologies, and support the development of international and interregional scientific relations. The agreement also prioritizes promoting the VYZOV Prize for Future Technologies in the Far East and in the Asia-Pacific Region.

Vyzov Foundation CEO Natalya Tretyak emphasized the importance of cooperation with the leading education facilities of the Far Eastern region: “The Far Eastern Federal University is one of Russia’s top schools. It has strong research capabilities, an elaborate knowledge base and extensive scientific relations. Joining the efforts of our Foundation and the FEFU will help us promote Russian science and Russian scientists internationally, attract leading international scientists to joint research projects, and create additional tools for integrating science and business.”

FEFU Rector Boris Korobets stressed the significance of gaining access to the Foundation’s experts and resources: “The Vyzov Foundation offers unique opportunities for integration in the international research and innovation ecosystem. Together, we will be able to put the Far East’s scientists in the spotlight for the global science community, which is particularly important. We have a vast potential, a huge team of scientists and educators, and we are willing to share and promote their research and achievements. Our expertise and our international partner network, which includes 230 schools worldwide, will also provide additional capabilities for the Foundation. This is one more opportunity for the Far East to reaffirm itself as Russia’s technology powerhouse.”

The Vyzov Foundation is a co-founder of the VYZOV Prize for Future Technologies, which is primarily meant to promote scientific achievements and popularize science as a profession. As part of their strategic partnership, the Foundation will support the FEFU with its expertise and methodology, and the university will help promote the VYZOV Prize internationally using its extensive international partner network, particularly in the Asia-Pacific Region.

The 2025 VYZOV Prize attracted 632 submissions for nomination coming from a total of 40 countries. Only 1 percent of the submissions came from Russia’s Far Eastern Federal District, which means there is considerable room for expanding cooperation between the Foundation and the region’s research and education organizations. With this in mind, the Vyzov Foundation offers new formats for popularizing science and builds new platforms for productive interaction between scientists, civil servants, the business community and academia.
