Director General of the Vyzov Foundation for the Development of Scientific and Cultural Relations Natalya Tretyak and Acting Rector of the Vitus Bering Kamchatka State University Olga Rebkovets signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum on September 5th, 20254.
The parties plan to implement joint projects aimed at popularizing science and strengthening the education capabilities of the Far Eastern Federal District. The agreement prioritizes promoting the VYZOV Prize for Future Technologies in the Kamchatka Region and in other parts of the Far East. The Kamchatka State University will include the Vyzov Foundation’s experts in its key activities related to developing the university and forming research teams. The Foundation is willing to provide comprehensive expert support for the university’s projects and for other initiatives implemented in the Kamchatka Region and in the Far East.
Vyzov Foundation CEO Natalya Tretyak said at the signing conference: “The VYZOV Prize is an efficient tool for supporting and developing scientific potential in various regions of our enormous country. It is our joint mission to show that prominent scientists and promising projects don’t only emerge in the capital but also in other cities that are strategically important for Russia’s technological development. We are confident that this agreement will open up new opportunities for scientists not only in Kamchatka but all over the Far East, as well as help increase the number of submissions for nomination for the VYZOV Prize coming from different parts of Russia. Access to the Vyzov Foundation’s expertise coupled with integration in the community of the nation’s top technology award will enable scientists to highlight their research for a wider audience, and encourage students to pursue a career in science.”
Olga Rebkovets, Acting Rector of the Vitus Bering Kamchatka State University said: “This agreement is an opportunity for our university to enable a livelier and more intensive scientific exchange. Kamchatka is a unique natural laboratory, and now its findings and expertise will be actively incorporated in the national and international scientific discourse. In return, our university will get access to expertise from fellow scientists based all over the country. I am confident that partnership with the Vyzov Foundation will help us not only strengthen the Kamchatka State University’s position as the powerhouse of scientific research in the Far East, but also attract the best talent and resources to our region to enable new discoveries. We also plan to promote cooperation using our future Discoverers’ Campus, which is being built in Kamchatka under the federal project for ‘Creating a Network of Modern Campuses’ as part of the ‘Youth and Children’ national project.”
Earlier the Vyzov Foundation signed a partnership agreement with the Far Eastern Federal University on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum. The Foundation is starting to work systemically with schools all over Russia to promote scientific achievements, encourage career choices in science and provide an enabling environment for converting scientific research into practical innovation projects.
