As part of the working trip, the delegation of the Vyzov Foundation for the Development of Scientific and Cultural Relations, headed by Elena Eremenko, Vice President of the Foundation, met with Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva (UN Geneva). The meeting was held at the Palais des Nations.
Elena Eremenko told Tatiana Valovaya about the success of the international category of the VYZOV Prize – Discovery, the foundation's initiatives in the field of science diplomacy, including events in the "SCIENCE. DIALOGUE. TRUST." format, as well as how the foundation attracts world-class experts from different countries to its projects, promoting the idea of "science beyond politics". In addition, the meeting discussed the possibilities of the foundation's participation in UN events.
"For the team of the Vyzov Foundation, the dialogue with the United Nations that has begun is not only a great honor, but also a certain sign of quality: the foundation's activities and, above all, the VYZOV Prize have become visible at the most authoritative international level. I am glad that our initiatives in the field of science diplomacy have been supported by our colleagues from the United Nations. I am confident that the foundation's activities can contribute to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, at least in the direction of "Partnership for Sustainable Development". A constructive dialogue took place, we outlined our next steps – we will act," said Elena Eremenko, Vice President of the Vyzov Foundation.
Geneva is traditionally considered a place for the development of diplomacy and international relations. The UN Office in Geneva is one of three major administrative offices outside New York, along with Nairobi and Vienna. It plays a central role in the "International Geneva" with numerous non-governmental, international organizations and permanent missions represented here.
